Another King is Chosen

King Saul failed to obey God’s commandments, leading God to reject him as king and send Samuel to Bethlehem to find a replacement among the sons of Jesse. Samuel initially looked at Jesse’s older, tall sons, but God reminded him that people look at outward appearances while He looks at the heart. God chose the youngest son, David, who was brought in from the fields and anointed by Samuel as the Spirit of the Lord came upon him with power.
