David and Saul

As the Spirit of the Lord came upon David, it departed from Saul, leaving the king troubled by a sad and gloomy spirit. David was brought into the palace to play his harp to calm Saul, and he soon became best friends with the king’s son, Jonathan. However, after David’s military successes and the praise he received from the people, Saul became jealous and fearful, even attempting to kill David with a spear.
