When time began, there was only one God, who acted as a creator, builder, and artist to bring light and life into a dark world. Over the course of six days, God spoke things into existence, creating the sky, land, plants, celestial bodies, and all living creatures. Finally, He created the first humans, Adam and Eve, in His own image and declared all of His creation to be good. On the seventh day, God finished His work and took a rest, establishing a day of rest for the finished world.
