A father brought his son, who was plagued by an evil spirit that caused seizures and muteness, to Jesus after the disciples were unable to help. When the father asked Jesus to help “if” He could, Jesus replied that all things are possible for those who believe, leading the father to cry out for help with his unbelief. Jesus commanded the spirit to leave and lifted the boy to his feet, teaching that such miracles require prayer and faith.
