A King is Chosen

When the Israelites rejected God as their king and demanded a human ruler, God told Samuel to warn them about how a king would take their property and children. Despite these warnings, the people insisted, so God led Samuel to Saul, a man from the tribe of Benjamin who was searching for lost donkeys. Samuel anointed Saul, and the people shouted “Long live the king!” when they saw his impressive physical appearance.
