Joseph’s Dream And His Brothers

Jacob loved his son Joseph more than his other eleven sons, gifting him a special coat of many colors which fueled his brothers’ hatred. This jealousy intensified when Joseph shared dreams of his family bowing down to him, suggesting he would one day rule over them. When Jacob sent Joseph to check on his brothers in the fields, they plotted to kill him but eventually decided to throw him into a cistern and sell him to Egyptian traders. The brothers deceived their father with Joseph’s blood-stained coat, leading Jacob to believe a wild animal had killed his favorite son, while Joseph was taken away to a new life in Egypt.
